Enira wines have been a symbol for exquisite taste and quality
Bessa Valley Winery celebrated its 10th anniversary on the 9th of September 2011. Count Stephan von Neipperg, owner of Bessa Valley Winery, and dr. Karl Heinz Hauptmann, the main shareholder, were more than proud to commemorate the 10th birthday of their Bulgarian project in the valley of the Thracian tribe Bessi near Ognyanovo village, Bulgaria.
More than 200 partners, guests, friends, government representatives and prominent sommeliers were invited to the event. Businessmen from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and others, distributing Enira wines in Europe, attended Bessa Valley’s celebration party. More than 50 guests, partners of Count von Neipperg, arrived from Romania. The gala was also attended by the ambassador of Denmark in Bulgaria, H.E. Kaare Erhard Janson, Dora Nenova, head of “State funding and regulations” directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Antoaneta Bakalova from the regional directorate “Wine and vine” – Plovdiv, as well as Ivan Dimitrov – regional mediator for Pazardzhik municipality.

Count Stephan von Neipperg announced he is extremely pleased with the dynamic course of development the winery took under the management of the current GM Ivaylo Antonov: ‘Every year we succeed to offer to the public even better and better wines and all I can do is promise you that we will keep doing this for the next 10 years.’
For the past 10 years of hard work, Enira wines succeeded to gain worldwide recognition and have come to set the standarts in Bulgarian winemaking. Many of the vintages have been awarded prestigious prizes over the years: Golden Rhyton from Vinaria 2006, Golden Barrel 2006, Golden Medal from Vinaria 2007, Golden Grail 2007, etc.
At the moment the winery is primarily focused in the production of red wines under the trademarks Enira, Enira Reserva, Enira Rose, Merlot by Enira, Syrah by Enira, Cabernet by Enira, BV by Enira.
The total quantity of bottles produced is 1 780 000. A significant part of the production is exported to Europe, Asia and North America. Enira and Enira Reserva are the most successful on the foreign markets. Japan – 85 000 and China – 48 000 are the biggest importers of Enira wines. In the same time, Easy by Enira 2008, Cabernet by Enira 2008, Enira 2006 и Enira 2007 are the most successful on the domestic markets.
Count Stephan von Neipperg sincerely believes in the potential of Bulgaria to produce quality wines: “Good wines comes from the good fruit, which comes from good terroir. Winemaking is always the same all over the worlds. It is the terroir that is important, and here it is outstanding! Our main mission has always been focused on regaining the trust of the whole world in Bulgarian wines again and I think we have been pretty successful for the past 10 years and we have achieved a significant change in the way the world regards Bulgarian winemaking.” |
