14.02.2012 at 11.00 am Winery "Bessa Valley" celebrated the one of the most popular Bulgarian holidays - Trifon Zarezan. The day of St. Trifon - the guardian of the wine and a symbol of good harvest, was honored with an ancient ceremony of trimming the vine. The hosts were General Director of "Bessa Valley" Ivaylo Antonov and Marc Dworkin, Chief Expert of Enira Wines. The traditional ceremony was preceded by a dedication ceremony for health, fertility and prosperity.
In the beginning of the upcoming active growing season, Mr. Antonov presented to the guests the last year’s balance: "We are happy to say that for the past 2011 the volume of exports of wines Enira increased 90% for the domestic market and increase 13% for the year. Last year the winery also celebrated its 10th anniversary. During these 10 years we strived to offer only the finest wines and will continue to do so in the future". The main export markets for Bessa Valley remain Europe, China and Japan, but last year the wines were first presented in Korea and USA.
For 2012 Mr. Antonov expects the positive trend to continue, although the wine market shrunk worldwide. Soon it is expected the launch of Cabernet by Enira, vintage 2010. Due to high interest in Duo by Enira (blend of Merlot and Syrah) wine lovers will have the opportunity to become familiar with the new blend from 2010 by the end of the year. Up to March in the business class of Lufthansa, including ground salons, will be served Enira 2008, presented to the market only a few months ago. In 2012 winemakers from the winery will attend the world's largest wine fairs, where they will present their new wines.
Since its start in 2001, the winery "Bessa Valley" invariably observes the custom of the celebration of St. Trifon's Day. And as the tradition dictates – the heartier feast is the more juicy grapes and better quality wine will be made. This year the winemakers from Bessa Valley invited ensemble "Pazardjik". The ensemble presents unique folklore heritage of Thracian region. The music and the dances were accompanied by a tasting of premium wines made from French grape varieties – Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot.
The Mayor of Pazardzhik, Mr. Todor Popov, congratulated the winemakers from “Bessa Valley” and wished them good health, prosperity and success. |
