About wine tasting
Alexander Kanev:
“The first step is to fill one-third of your mouth with wine. It is recommended that you keep it there about six – eight seconds so that it equals body temperature.
Then take a small breath through the mouth, color it with the wine and after a few seconds, breathe out through the rhino pharynx.
This is the only way that you can assess the wine quality accurately. It is also a matter of flavor: there are a lot of groups and sub-groups, aromas.
It is most interesting to try out your own knowledge and fragrances. I cannot quote the exact number of fragrances that the human brain can distinguish, but just imagine what over one hundred aromas, the human sense of smell can detect, mean – a totally different character – grassy, fruity, mineral asphalt – you immerse yourself in a fascinating and rich field.
The more knowledgeable you become, the more fascinating you find it.”
